#How To Increase Your Height On Youtube

I'm a little confused about another ask you recieved about dwarfism running in families, my understanding was that the majority of little people are born to average height parents, and that it's often random, and that the probability of having children with dwarfism only gets really high if both parents are little people themselves, such as how Warwick davis' wife is also a little person and both their children are little people. You would know more about this than me though, so is there any chance you could explain the genetics around dwarfism?
Hello! I completely understand your confusion, as the numbers do seem to contradict themselves.
We know that when someone has dwarfism, there is a 50% chance that they will pass it onto their children. This percentage increases when both the parents have dwarfism, depending of course on family linage and other factors (this youtuber explains dominant pedigree).
However, 80% of little people are "new mutations" or born to able bodied parents. Occurring in 1 in every 15,000 to 100,000 births (depending on the type of dwarfism).
There are a number of factors as to why, despite how rare it is, for little people to be born to mostly able bodied parents - these include the complications that come with childbirth when one has dwarfism, the likelihood of little people marrying other little people, and so on.
We see famous families like the Roloffs (of Little People Big World fame) and the Davis' and presume that they are the most common scenario - that little people meet other little people, have children, and so on. But inter abled relationships are incredibly common as well as little people being born to able bodied parents. Most other little people I knew growing up had average height parents.
Hopefully this information helped, there's lots of articles out there to take a look at! As always, I recommend Little People of Ontario and Little People of America as good sources.

The Best Vidding Safe Haven?
Forgive the "read bait" meme above but if you are reading these words right now that means it worked. If you are a vidding fan then it was worth it. Vidders.net was born July 19, 2010. It is a Vidder-friendly AO3 Embed Certified Vid hosting & streaming site with over 18K vids. Its growth benefited from You Tube's increased use of content ID and the closing of Imeem. It was mentioned in the "Vidding: A History" book by Francesca Coppa. Its members (most who host some great vids there) include:
Luminosity
Lim
Laura Shapiro
Lithiumdoll
Obsessive24
Clucking Bells
Charmax
Bradcpu
thedothatgirl
kiki miserychic
Milly
Hollywoodgrrl
bop radar
Loki (secretlytodream)
Condsdmlk
newkidfan
NCISMelanie
Shoopdancer
Absolute Destiny
SD Wolfpup
Arefadedaway
camelia1986
adfproductions
Astarte
Such Heights
Mithoborien
mresundance
Just to name a few. You may not recognize these names but if you do you know these vidders literally made a name for themselves with the quality of their work during that time. At least in my opinion. The site is a time capsule of awesome vids even if some of the vidders listed are no longer active. Additionally, it hosts vids no longer available on You Tube like "Boom Boom Ba" by Charmax (a classic Xena vid). And yet it can still host new content without the issues faced on some other vid hosting options.
How much does it cost to host and stream all those vids? Well, that is one of the reasons for this post. The assumption I'm making is that if there is a Vidding "community" it's more likely than not that members of it would see a post like this and/or share it with fellow members of the community. Is it worth it to keep a site like this around? It's mostly been a solo operation for these past 13 years but now I am starting to wonder after such a long time.
I'll spare you the obligation of filling out a poll or survey. I'll make it simple. We have a Patreon account at patreon.com/vidding. If you don't feel it's worth keeping up. Nothing to do. Thank you for reading this far. If you feel there is some value based on what was mentioned earlier, then a minimum level of support at the Patreon is $1 a month. You'll not only be supporting the Vidders.net but other projects like the recent purchase of the Vidding.com domain name and more. The OTW October fundraiser drive begins in October and is on track to raise about 250k. Rasing even 1 percent of that amount would be more than adequate. After all Vids on AO3 make up less than 1 percent of the content on there anyway. I've been told by a fellow fan that I should keep it running but if it's not even supported by a community, it's a personal expense at my expense I am on the hook for. Again, there is no survey or poll to take but if you have questions that may help you determine your willingness to support just contact me. If you find value in preserving the site just visit Patreon.com/vidding or get your questions answered. This form of funding is more sustainable than occasional stop and start donation efforts we've done in the past. If you prefer another form of funding let us know.
I will check in by the end of October to see where things are. I am not going to do anything drastic. It's just that it's been 13 years and I started to wonder especially with my current financial situation but didn't want to do anything without communicating the situation. The site costs about $720 a year to run. At about $60 a month to run so it should be doable.

Hank Green released a short about whether y'all people are more likely to get cancer. The answer is yes! Every 5 cm of height increases the risk of several cancers by 5-10%.
In the screenshot of the website explaining this he was showing, it said "unlike being ov*rweight or ob*se, height..." I assume that was followed by "cannot be modified." (Censorship mine). But of course weight cannot be modified either, and there's no proof it makes people healthier to force it. We certainly don't advocate for leg shortening surgeries or artificially halting growth hormonally when someone is tall.
Exactly, we don't encourage people to cut their shins in half "for health". I looked the youtube short up, basically bigger you are the more cells you have but fat cells don't actively divide like say, skin cells. You start with small cells, they get bigger and if needed will divide. So even loosing weight without lipo won't reduce your cells (weight loss basically changes density and size of the cell ? Is again my understanding i could be wrong) and it sounds like the cells aren't replicating like other cells. (My limited understanding is) Every time the DNA inside a cell is read to make a new cell it runs a risk of being read wrong which creates mutated cells (cancer) (iirc benign cancer is when it's read wrong but isn't spreading, it's made limited error copies and the other type of cancer is making nothing but the wrong copies) instead fat cells get big and split, there's no code reading.
I suppose it is correct that it is generally more accepted to perform liposuction on a person than one of those height altering surgeries (usually it's to make someone taller however).
This makes me wonder how much cancer rates change with appendix and gallbladder removal. Obviously without them you can't get those organ specific cancers but the thing about statistics is, there's always fine print.
"Your overall cancer rate drops 5% if you remove your appendix and gallblader" is a hilarious headline to imagine. When in reality your risk of appendix and gallbladder cancer goes to zero outside of like accidentally left behind pieces or something.
Anyway what a weird place for the article to go to. At most you can argue bigger bodies are at a higher risk of certain cancers related to hormones (I can't recall the exact phrasing) because fat cells can also store hormones (iirc) and could be problems for hormone sensitive organs like ovaries. So the website itself was being weirdly fatphobic for no reason if my grasp of things is accurate to the thesis.
But anyway, I'm 6 feet (182 cm) tall and come from a family of giants where I'm the shortest sibling so this is actually somewhat relevant to my personal life and something I'll be extra aware of!

Computer q. For otherwise identical monitors, is a 4000:1 contrast ratio noticeably better from 1000:1? I don't mean for fancy art but like if I'm watching a movie, could I see the difference in a dark scene? I looked into oled's, but those are expensive and I think the way I use my stuff would cause burn in.
I hope you don't mind, but I got carried away and answered pretty much every computer monitor question anyone has ever had. And since this turned into a whole thing, I thought I'd share it for everyone to benefit.
For a computer monitor I would say the most important aspect is actually the viewing angle. This is how far off-axis you can look at the monitor before the image degrades.
We sit very close to our displays and at that distance, even a change in height in your chair can affect the image. Move a little bit left or right and a cheap display could completely wash out and look terrible. And if you get a display that is 27" or above, even if you sit dead center, the edges of the screen will appear dark and washed out with a bad viewing angle.
The two best display technologies to get a good viewing angle are IPS (in-plane switching) and OLED. If you are interested in a display without these technologies, be sure it has a decent viewing angle. You can read more about viewing angles here and here.
IPS has very little concern for burn-in, but it is still a concern with OLED. In recent years OLED has greatly improved and image retention and burn-in can be avoided with regular maintenance. Displays will have pixel shift features and noise modes that work out all the pixels evenly. You can run these features every once in a while to prevent burn-in. You can also play special anti-burn-in videos on YouTube (full screen) to exercise the pixels to uniformity.
So if you don't mind the hassle, you can manage an OLED with low risk.
That said, OLED was almost exclusively for TVs and has only recently been introduced for computer displays. The current options are quite large and fairly expensive, as you alluded to. So if you are trying to stay within a budget, it might be best to seek out an IPS display.
Another consideration is resolution. Everyone is obsessed with everything being 4K now. But I think increasing the resolution brings diminishing returns with regard to increased detail you can actually notice. So if you don't mind going with a 1440p monitor (about 2.5K), you can save some money on resolution and get higher quality in more noticeable areas. Personally, I feel 1440p gives you a nice, noticeable bump in detail over 1080p. Whereas going from 1440p to 4K (2160p) is less noticeable unless you have very good vision.
Another benefit to 1440p is that video games are much easier to run on high quality settings with a reasonable GPU. And you can use technologies like super sampling (Nvidia calls this DLSS) to increase the detail you may lose from not going 4K.
The only concern I'd have with not going 4K is if you edit 4K video. It will be difficult to do a pixel level analysis of your footage otherwise. But other than that, you can still watch 4K content on a 1440p monitor and because it is being downsampled, you will still notice a nice bump in detail.
So if you don't have a reason to get a 4K display, I think 1440p is worth considering.
The next concern would be color. Or color gamut. This is how many colors the display can accurately reproduce. If you don't do any art or video color grading, you'll at least want something that does 95 to 100% of sRGB. That is the color space the entire internet uses. And if you are going to be watching HDR movies, you might want a display with a decent percentage of the P3 color space as well. Doesn't need to be 100%, but the higher the better. And for those who do art, a good percentage of Adobe RGB is recommended.
Also, many manufacturers offer displays that come pre-calibrated from the factory. If color accuracy is important, I would seek out one of these displays with a Delta E rating of 3 or less (lower is better).
A newer factor in displays is peak brightness. This is measured in "nits." In standard dynamic range (SDR), video only needed to reach 100 nits. Most HDR content is mastered to reach 1000 nits. In the future, that number will be 4000. And if micro LED technology ever becomes affordable, we may go up to 10,000 nits. But almost everything is around 1000 at the moment, so that is a good number to shoot for.
HOWEVER, because HDR is tone mapped (the brightness of your display is factored in and the content is adjusted accordingly), you can still get some benefits of HDR, even if you cannot do the full 1000 nits.
All monitors can do 100 nits for SDR content. But with more things being displayed in HDR, having more nits will give you a better experience. This does not mean your display will blind you. Usually bright stuff only takes up a small portion of the screen. But having more nits allows highlights to really pop and feel immersive. A lightsaber might actually feel hot and dangerous on a bright enough screen.
Computer displays are often rated as HDR400 or HDR600 or HDR1000 based on their nits. The HDR400 isn't great for HDR content. If you can do 600 or above within your budget, you'll get a better experience. If you are going to watch movies, this may be a feature you prioritize.
I know you mentioned contrast ratio, but I'm afraid that is a little complicated to answer. It can depend on other aspects of the monitor and the viewing environment. So I'll try to give you the info you need to figure out if the display you select will suit your needs.
Manufacturers can use tricks to fudge their contrast ratio in product descriptions, so it is best to go to an independent review website like RTINGS to see what they measured. (They do good TV and monitor reviews too.) You'll see that OLED displays are said to have "infinite" contrast ratio, due to being able to turn off pixels completely. Which means it is probably time to move to a new metric because that gives very little info on the dynamic range of the display (the difference between the darkest and brightest thing it can show).
You definitely want a decent contrast ratio for your display, but this can be subjective. If you have a nice bright screen, your brain may feel the contrast is fantastic, even if the actual darkest black point of the monitor isn't great. If something is really bright, then dark things will *seem* darker by comparison. And if you are viewing in a dark environment, the contrast will look even better. So this is where seeking out a professional reviewer's experience of the monitor can be helpful. One monitor's 4000:1 ratio might be a different experience than another with the same measurement.
Because TVs are generally larger and can have more backlighting zones, they can get decent black levels without OLED. But smaller computer displays have more difficulty in reasonable price ranges. So manage your black level expectations if you go with an affordable IPS display. They can get bright, but they aren't great at blacks like OLED. I'm afraid that is just a limitation of the tech. In fact, getting a brighter display might be preferable to a better contrast ratio. And it will be easier to see if you are in a bright environment.
Most IPS displays are going to be between 1000:1 and 5000:1 and while it does make a difference, if you sit it next to an old plasma or an OLED, you're going to be disappointed. So I would not make contrast ratio a super high priority with IPS, because non-OLED computer displays just aren't going to give you inky blacks. I would say 2000:1 or better is going to give you a decent experience. But, again, I would seek out reviews rather than trust the official product specs when it comes to the quality of the blacks.
And one final consideration you may want to factor in is the refresh rate. This is mostly for gaming. Most displays will give you at least 60 Hz or 60 "refreshes" per second. Gamers tend to like 120 Hz or higher. This won't affect movie watching very much as nearly everything except Gemini Man is 24 fps.
TLDR overview...
Get an IPS or OLED display for a good viewing angle. I personally feel this is the most important feature.
Choose a resolution. 1440p can allow you to increase quality in other areas to maximize your budget. Only get 4K if you have a legit reason or you have fighter pilot vision.
Color gamut or number of colors. Try to get 100% of sRGB for web content, 90% or above of Adobe RGB for art/photography, and 90% or above of P3 for HDR movies and video editing.
If color accuracy is important, look for pre-calibrated displays that have a Delta E of 3 or less. (Lower is better)
HDR brightness. If you want to experience good HDR, you'll want the brightest screen possible (measured in nits). HDR600 or HDR1000 are great. If you don't care about HDR, then don't worry about the rating.
Contrast ratio and black levels. It's going to be meh on pretty much anything but OLED. 2000:1 or better is a good goal to shoot for, but be sure to check independent reviews for the subjective experience of the black levels. Dark viewing environments help too.
Refresh rate. 60 Hz is fine for most things. Gamers prefer 120 Hz or faster. And if you are a competitive gamer, you may want to seek out more info on "variable refresh rate" and "pixel response time."
Pick the variables above that seem most important to you and then seek out a display that does those things decently within your budget.

Using gyroscope-based hand gestures to improve user experience
All content producers are trying to innovate new hooks that grab human attention. The most recent trend is short-form videos (Reels, stories, and Youtube shorts), which are used heavily in almost all social and content apps because of the substantial impact of user interaction.
And this refers to allowing new policies that will enable individuals to post freely on the internet and utilize the available platforms.
The Challenge
Enjoying short-form videos can mean lots of time spent on the internet, which is associated with exhaustion from browsing the internet and, thus, an increasing need for an aiding tool to help the users.
For instance, some people have pain in their thumbs, which lessens their ability to scroll over the screen of an internet-enabled device, which happens after spending a long time using the device. The reflection will explore an innovative tool available for users who use one hand to navigate short-form content.
I believe the gyroscope is a feature that can be a pleasing alternative that offers a new experience for the targeted users.
When does this happen?

Users continuously consume a lot of time while using their mobile devices, specifically for entertainment purposes like watching reels, which causes hand pain, especially for the thumb joint, especially when using the thumb for scrolling up and down for more than one hour.
Navigate Intuitively
The gyroscope is a microdevice that consists of a disc mounted to spin rapidly around an axis (Armenise & Ciminelli, 2020).
The gyroscopes' sensitivity is incredible; it feels like it is activated by your brain, not by your hand!
So moving the hand at a slight angle that is barely noticeable will crawl to reveal more content.
Gyroscope In Mobile Devices
Utilizing a gyroscope to measure the accelerometers' velocity along the x, y, and z axes. It was used in many different techniques and fields, like navigation, wellness, gaming, and many more. Here are some examples:

Gyroscope In Content Browsing
The gyroscope can deliver a seamless experience by tilting the mobile device up and down along the Y axis, which offers the ability to scroll between screen components that have a specific height for each post, regardless of the content type, for the sake of reducing the use of the thumb heavily.

Content Size
Determining the size of posts is essential to assist hand movement and the gyroscope sensitivity to measure how much the user needs to tilt their hand up or down to jump back and forth between different contents.
The social content depends on the following sizes to represent short video content, whether the label is a reel or any other similar video type. Those types usually have the same time duration, which is less than one minute, and they share the transition experience and functionality.

The findings indicated that 70% of the respondents used Facebook and Instagram, 40% used TikTok, 20% used Snapchat, and 40% used Pinterest. Moreover, 90% enjoyed watching the short-form video (reels)
Furthermore, 40% of the respondents were annoyed by the experience of sliding up and down to reveal content on their favorite social media platform. 70% of participants enjoyed watching short-form videos for more than 2 hours, and the rest were between 1 and 2 hours.
40% feel hand pain from browsing on their mobile devices, which makes them switch the device between hands to continue. Most of the participants enjoy browsing early morning and directly before sleeping.
A significant number of the respondents (80%) stopped using their devices because they were busy. 100% of the respondents use one hand and spend their time on social media applications.
How it works
By linking the gyroscope sensor with the desired content, The gyroscope can respond to changes with a hand gesture. Any movements can be calculated and connected with a particular output on the application.

Align in the middle
Resize to full width
Align to the right
Add a link to the embedded imageAdd alt text
Thus, the size of the short-form videos is defined, and the gyroscope can move from one video to another without the old-fashioned experience that depends on using the to scroll up/down.
Moreover, by shaking the device, we can refresh the current content and download the newest one, and this is by taking the user to the top of the screen again.

Hey girl!!! Can you tell me more about your oc? I think shes one of my favorite BES ocs but you don't post about her often :( I'd especially like to know about Acharas modern teenage version (like the one you did about Mizu)
OMG HIII😝😝😝😝 So, I don't think so much about modern teenage Achara😞, but I can try a little harder to answer😆 (I'm also glad you liked her!!)
Modern teenage Achara <3
Her parents are divorced, she lives with her father and grandmother, and she met Mizu a few days after moving to a nearby neighborhood. Her father took the motorcycle to the concert, at Eiji's mechanic and Achara accompanied her father, a few days later she went to school and discovered she was Mizu's classmate.
Eiji was talking something to the man, Mizu even tried to pay attention, she understood that he was a new police officer in the city and that he lived nearby. He wanted Eiji to fix his bike. Mizu tried to concentrate on the conversation, but her gaze shifted to a girl next to the man. She must have been her age and about her height, being just a little taller, she was smiling. Mizu's stomach turned and turned. It was strange to have someone of the same age group so close to her. Eiji and the man entered, when Mizu was going to enter the mechanics, her adoptive father spoke to her — Mizu, stay with Achara while Hoshikki and I talk. -her voice rumbled. She nodded as she tried to remember when that girl and her father had introduced themselves, she missed that part. When Mizu got closer to Achara, the strangeness increased. — Mizu, right? - She smiles like a mischievous rabbit. — Yes...Achara right? - Mizu speaks in a low voice, she wasn't used to socializing with other people. Especially when she was someone her age. The girl smiled and nodded positively. - Can we be friends. I live nearby, how old are you? Why do you live here? What is Mr. Eiji yours?- That burst of questions left Mizu stunned.
Achara was considered a very pretty girl at school, but as she hung out with Mizu a lot, boys didn't come near her to flirt, as many thought Mizu was a boy and they were dating.
She loves music, having extensive knowledge of musicals and pop divas.
Even without singing well, Achara had this habit of putting on music and getting on the coffee table or sofa while dancing and singing, using the remote control or the broom as a microphone. Her grandmother is not very pleased with this behavior, saying in a soft voice that she does not behave like a lady
She had average grades, being practically impeccable in grammar and foreign languages and terrible in mathematics and physics. At least she was good at chemistry too.
Achara has her own style, she is not the type of person whose wardrobe fits into just one style. She wears what she likes, even pink or pastel tones always remaining in some way. She really likes miniskirts and customizing clothes, so she learned (at great expense) how to embroider, sew and knit, as it was very difficult to find a piece of clothing that fits her crazy outfits, so she makes them. Her presence in the city's thrift stores is extremely normal.
Her grandmother taught her how to cook, but she only really used this skill when trying to befriend Mizu, trying to win her over with sweets (LMAO😆)
She ties up the bangs of her long black hair with large, colorful barrettes.
Her school bag makes noise when she walks with it. With several keychains and buttons on it
Achara learned how to apply makeup at an early age, finding tutorials on YouTube. She follows many influencers in this field, including some drag queens, which is where she became familiar with the slang of this community.
Achara's hair has slight waves and is very long, she also likes to cut the ends of it when she's bored and she happens to have scissors nearby, leaving her hair chopped up (although not too much, since if her grandma notices she'll get angry). Her hair is also full and voluminous, so it's not as well-behaved as Mizu's.
Finally, Achara has two cats, Sabrina (homage to Sabrina Carpenter) and Gaga (homage to Lady Gaga)
Thanks for reading! and sorry for any spelling mistakes, as I said before, this is not my native language🫶🏻
Sabrinas song that I think Achara would love:

Hello, I'm new to having a parrotlet and have learnt alot from your YouTube videos already. I'm in the UK and confused over which light to get, any you can recommend that are available here? My girl is also about a year old and from a pet shop (never handled). I've given her a flight cage and plenty to do but she doesn't seem keen to explore and just sits in one spot all day, only moving to get food. Any advice to get her exploring a bit more? Many thanks
I don’t live in the UK So I’ll have to leave that for my followers to answer, I use the featherbrite bulbs which can be ordered with worldwide shipping from Mysafebirdstore!
Depending how long you’ve had the bird the inactivity could just be due to stress. A bird won’t want to leave a tall safe space and explore the environment until they feel safe- or they simply may not do that exploring when you’re there. As long as there’s ample things to do I would largely just give them time and space, you don’t want to invade the cage too much trying to change things since that will increase stress at this point.
One thing I might add to encourage more movement would be to have multiple food bowls at varying heights in the cage as well as treats scattered around the toys. Just helps them move at their pace and build positive associations with each cage element as they explore. Otherwise it’s just about helping them feel comfortable, making sure the room they’re in is relatively quiet, observe their behaviour and change things if you notice any stress triggers (some birds may like to watch people move around, other birds might get stressed by it and need a quieter area. Some birds like having a window, others get scared of wildlife/traffic and need blinds closed. Some feel safer with a towel over a wall of the cage, others get stressed by the lack of visibility. Some like having people talk to them, others need less attention.). White noise can also help reduce stress a lot by fading out startling sounds- just a soft radio will help.

Hi i really need help. I feel so insecure and jealous. I don't feel or think that I am beautiful because I'm chubby. I have big arms and stomach. I've followed people on IG that have the same body as me and are content with it but I still don't see myself (or their bodies, I know I'm despicable) beautiful. I've been running for 5 months now but my weight still increased instead of going down. Please how do i become confident?
Hi love! Feeling like your mental perception of yourself doesn't match what you see in the mirror is incredibly frustrating. Everyone feels better at different sizes, so your feelings are valid here!
I believe that confidence in your body comes from loving yourself unconditionally while simultaneously making the deliberate decision to care for it to the best of your ability – through a healthy diet, regular exercise, proper skin care, a comprehensive beauty routine, clothes that fit well and make you feel your best, etc.
While this is purely anecdotal and in no way a scientific finding, I've found that your body seems to sort itself out once you start putting yourself first in every aspect of your life. I tend to be in my best shape when I'm working hard towards my goals, socializing regularly, putting effort into my outfits/daily appearance, eating a healthy diet but not restricting, moving my body for at least a few minutes every day, and generally letting myself work towards my potential in life if you will.
For weight loss purposes, it is more important to focus on what you eat and how much than any exercise routine. I would look into a predominately WFPB diet and then customize your meals/snacks to cater to your personal taste preferences, lifestyle, and energy requirements given your height, weight, and level of activity. See a dietitian if you need any help with this.
Additionally, you might want to try walking and low-impact strength training like pilates, yoga, and shorter 10-15 minute bodyweight exercises you can find Youtube to get started.
At least for me, I find that running and higher-intensity exercises/classes make my appetite soar, so it's counterproductive for weight loss. I think the merit of these exercises is more for the enduring training or muscle-building benefits they provide (which shouldn't be discounted – they serve a different purpose).
If you've been doing all of the right things, though, and you're not seeing the results you think you should be, go to your doctor for a blood test/panels to ensure you're not dealing with any underlying deficiencies or imbalances that could be sabotaging your efforts or otherwise negatively impacting your wellbeing.
Hope this helps xx

Get to Know You: Sims Style
Thank you so much for the tag @polygonbeach!!! This is a very long one, so I'm gonna cut this text post. Just sit back, relax, and happy reading!
What’s your favorite Sims death?
Probably Old Age because I love it when my Sims have fully lived their lives before passing away :) The other one I like is Electrocution because the Sims look so funny 😂
Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
Maxis Match all the way.
Do you cheat your Sims' weight?
I don't. I only make them work out if they roll a want to work out or increase their athletic skill, and/or if they receive an athletic-related opportunity.
Do you move objects?
Yes, sometimes.
Favorite Mod?
I have many faves, it's hard to choose 😅 probably the More Entry Points, Business as Unusual Bistro by Ani and almost all mods from @simsi45. I also love the custom weather presets from @pudding-parade and lighting mods from @brntwaffles
First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?
The Sims 3: World Adventures
Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?
aLIVE.
Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
Juliet Capulet (yes I know, very original name haha but not really based on the famous character. I was in my huge R&J phase when I created her & her parents)
Have you made a Simself?
Just once, because I'm not good with CAS and it's my least favorite play style haha
Which is your favorite EA hair color?
Black, Brunette, Ginger, Blonde
Favorite EA hair?
The one Juliet has, from The Sims 3: Supernatural and the female hairs from Roaring Heights
Favorite life stage?
Young Adults / Adults
Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
Gameplay, but I also build sometimes if my save needs it 😂
Are you a CC creator?
No
Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?
Yes, and they're all amazing and so creative
Do you have any Sims merch?
Official? None. I have a mug that I won from a Twitter giveaway, though 😁
Do you have a YouTube for Sims?
None
How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?
Sims style, meaning CAS style, the Sims themselves? I'm not really sure what to say 🤣🤣🤣 My style has always been a mixture of retro and modern, and largely based on the Sims' personalities themselves. If they're premades, I have always based their outfits/makeovers on their original look, just enhance it and put my twist on them, still considering their personalities. I also look for real-life inspiration online. I guess what I can say has really changed is that I became more adventurous with using colors and patterns on their outfits, and doing more mix-and-matching. In terms of portrait presentation, it has changed, from a minimalist wall to a more appropriate, lively, colorful background.
Who’s your favorite CC creator?
I have a lot of faves (see my resources page 😂) Just on top of my head:
@nectar-cellar
@faerielandsims
@agnelid
@ninaaposts
@joojconverts
@poisonfireleafs
@rollo-rolls
@madraynesims
@xiasimla
@sweetdevil-sims
@wanderingsimsfinds
@enable--llamas
@carversims
@pandelabs
How long have you had Simblr?
Since December 2019
How do you edit your pictures?
In Photoshop, I increase brightness and vibrance of my photos, then use Topaz Clean to smoothen the edges 😁
What expansion / game pack is your favorite?
This is a hard one. I love almost all of TS3 EPs. For the first place, it's a tie between Ambitions, Late Night and University Life for me.
I tag @fishcemetery, @arielovessims, @treason-and-plot, @getboolpropped, @nonrevsims, @plumbob95, @tsims, @nectar-cellar, @happy-lemon, @mystic-hysteria, @mystery-pixels, @madraynesims and anyone who wants to do this!

how do you make your gifs?
hi!! I use photopea.com, which is a free version of photoshop. essentially my process is:
I have a mac, so I use screen record to get a shorter clip of the portion of the video I want to gif
then I trim the clip down to multiple clips that are about 3 seconds each. this is to deal with tumblr's size limit - if your clip is too long, the quality of the gif will be reduced when you upload it
I upload the .mov file to photopea; it'll ask for a frame rate, I typically put 20 FPS, but play around with what looks good to you. higher FPS means a smoother gif, but this does increase the size of the file
adjust brightness, contrast, vibrance, saturation, other coloring adjustments
crop the whole thing to fit tumblr's size requirements -- if I want it to fit the whole width of the post, it's 540 pixels width and 300 height if I want to keep the ratio of a youtube video. If I want it to fit half the width, it's 268 width 150 height, but obviously play around with it if I want a different shape/crop.
select all the layers and go to filter > sharpen > smart sharpen. this makes it look less blurry. I use 130% and 1.2 for the settings
then I add captions! I use open sans bold italic for the font, if it's a full size 540x300 gif, I use size 15 font. if it's a half-width gif, I use something like 11-13 size font. I move this to the center at the bottom and leave 15px of space at the bottom
I also add a little black border to the text so that it's easier to read. I do this by right clicking on the text layer and going to blending options. I select "stroke" and set size to 1 px, and I select "drop shadow" and set opacity to 100%, angle to 120, distance to 5px, spread to 13px, and size to 5px.
for watermarks I use 10px font size and reduce the opacity and fill of the layer to 50%
Then I go to file > export as gif. this will take about 30 seconds or so to load, and then you'll see a preview of your gif. I slow down the speed to about 70% so that it looks less choppy. and then depending on the final size of the gif, I go back and remove some frames from the beginning/end of the gif to make the gif size a little smaller. I try to stay within < 5MB so that the quality looks ok on tumblr. I think tumblr's limit is 3MB but if it's bigger than that they'll just compress it.
I've reblogged a few posts that helped me get started and I've pulled different steps from different posts that I use for my process. you can find all of those posts on my main blog here: floristjimin.tumblr.com/tagged/gifs
if you have specific questions about any of the steps or how to use photopea, feel free to ask, I am always happy to help!

so i watch manufacturing videos on youtube sometimes right? and the Algorithm has been recommending me ones with. the funniest AI-generated thumbnails. here follows a running commentary
This machine seems to be multitasking to an incredible degree. Taking whole animals to fully-cured meat products in one invisible process, presumably occurring in the Pit at the center of the processing line, with the only human input being buckets of the all-important Pink Slop. Truly ingenious.
Ah, the banana belt. Where stacks of single fruits (known to be the most popular method of purchasing bananas) are passed through the ceremonial halo of their brethren to be deposited on the laundry room counter. An essential process as it instills within the fruits a sense of dread and resignation of their place in the world which increases their potassium content.
Time for some life-changing DIY innovations! For instance, inspire your fan to greater heights by weighing it down with ceremonially-prepared symbols of unfulfilled purpose! The ice and tinfoil filling these plastic bottles reminds the fan of what happens to useless objects, filling it with a sense of panic and driving it to do better. And, of course, we need no reminder of that classic trick of using last week's Shein haul as fuel for cooking your dinner. It probably costs less than a natural gas stove at this point.
Ah yes, the Pit That Boils Workers Alive. A necessary evil. As we all know, there is no way to cool down 6-ton blocks of superheated steel without a human sacrifice guiding them into the baptismal font with a folding chair. Depending on the quality of ventilation in the room above, perhaps several other humans will experience the divine sensation of being steamed like dumplings.
Welcome to the Infinite Avenue of Bamboo! Begin your pilgrimage by amputating both legs at the knee and grabbing your trusty ladder, then simply stumble your way forward through shifting poles of endless length. The grove around you creaks and groans, the outer stalks inevitably succumbing to their place upon the piles surrounding you and stacking them ever higher. You do not know where the infinite poles below you grow from. More seem to push up from underneath the pile you pull yourself through. You cannot see the end. How long have you been moving? When can you rest?
This aesthetic bricklayer has made the classic mistake of "painting oneself into a corner", i.e. surrounding oneself with completed work that one should not walk on for fear of ruining it. The cat does not seem to mind this. Additionally, our unfortunate worker has not accounted for the inevitable path of water in her plans and may find all her hard work sadly destroyed by her lovely aesthetic waterfall within an hour or so.
Once you claw your way free of the Infinite Avenue of Bamboo, you may find yourself in the Infinite Mushroom Warehouse. These fungi range from the size of your head to the size of a large SUV and flow in endless waterfalls from the Vat, despite workers' best efforts to stem the flood. Grab a pallet, friend, for if these malevolent invaders are not stored away hastily, they may seek out your flesh and add you to their numbers.
#what the hell do i tag this.#youtube#creative writing#i guess. it sort of got away from me. in my defense it is very funny#good luck escaping the Infinite Mushroom Warehouse. do not eat them

For taennie i was always like 50/50 till the day that video from paris dropped. at first i was like it's just ppl making up things when first pic from jeju dropped. There's actually too many pics of them that dropped as you might have seen now in tiktok. and even then i was still 50/50 cause no picture was enough clear. But then the video dropped i was like holly molly, but i still was waiting for something and then the pics of tae and their manager dropped and whole army twitter accepted it except #THAT group of ppl of course, although some armys still wanted someone to say it's false they even were making tweets asking help from Tkkrs to debunk it 😂 in the pics Tae posted from Hawaii he posted a video with a dog and Jennie has the exact same dog. back in days in Feb 2023 from where those pics are there were tumours on k-side seeing TK together nd there was a girl so some assumed it was Jennie but ppl didn't let it spread much so you might not hear it that much.
Now walk with me for this one a bit, again rumours are the woman with jk in his apartment in that video is Jennie's model friend Hyunji shin. she's got the exact same hair length and Height as the woman in the video. now idk how much truth it holds but there's threads ppl made on that and although there's no significant or like striking proof of that's being her just them at same place n all which can be coincidences but if we consider all coincidences together there's a chance of that woman being her. And "IF" that's her then one can say Jennie might have introduced them? The increasing TK hangouts in last year can make sense...??(Apart from the fact that they genuinely wanted to hangout together of course). it wouldn't be far fetched would it? i believe jk has no girlfriend atm but if they resume (if that's a the same woman) Whatever they had going on there might be increasing TK hangouts in the future. you know double date or could be triple dates cause the actor frnd of Tae (seojoon if that's his name) is dating a youtuber and she's friends with Jennie too. so you never know......
I know things i mentioned might seem far fetched but thing is we don't know what goes in off cam. if you watch thai bl dramas you might know bright and win and how they had sooo many shippers turned out one of the guy was dating the girl who was right in front of them but shippers never once noticed it lol. Things like this happens so i just thought...
This is the first time i said these thoughts out loud...what do you think? like take it as hypothetical situation.
I keep deleting what I want to say, because I’m honestly at a loss for words. You expect me to believe you’re asking me a genuine question, when you start of saying “I didn’t accept Taennie right away, but JK being seen with a woman who Tae’s girlfriend’s fans say is maybe his girlfriend’s friend, is possible.”
Yes, it’s possible that a person JK knows could hook him up with someone, but it’s also possible JK is dating his own friend. The only reason your hypothetical is a possibility to you more than Jikook, is because you want it to be. We all have our biases, but unfortunately for Tkkrs and anyone who I guess just doesn’t like the idea of JK being with Jimin, JK himself seems very fine where he’s at.
As such, I’ll say again, if Jungkook had a girlfriend or a hookup last year, I would imagine Jimin knew, no matter what their relationship status is. I can’t say what it is, but given they were still flirting and traveling together and ended the year with a joint enlistment, I genuinely think they’re fine. Therefore, although my assumption of what their relationship is may one day be proven wrong, I’m not going to sit here chewing my nails over JK interacting with a woman. Especially if he’s still flirting with and choosing Jimin.
So you’re right, we don’t know what goes on off camera, but you guys repeatedly build your own narratives about their lives, then present them to others as if it’s not equally or often times more of a reach than JK dating a guy he’s known for years. I mean truly. You don’t even have confirmation of who the woman is, yet it’s believable JK could get back with her if she’s Jennie’s friend? Okay. You do you and I’ll do me, if that’s cool with you.
#jeon jungkook#i also don’t think he cheated on Jimin or#whatever other crazy stuff people want to#come up with and accuse me of thinking#my opinion is: they either have some sort of#“When we’re both busy” understanding or#they weren’t together at the time if at all#it’s not as complicated as many people#make it out to be but A LOT of you all deal#in absolutes and I don’t understand why

Hello there! I want to increase my height & I've seen a YouTube video to do so and many of the people said they have grown some inches my following that. Just 2 weeks ig I got into the LOAblr. I thought to manifest my desired height using Law of Assumption. But as u know the law says that you have to keep persisting and don't let the 3D overpower your thoughts. So, my question was if I use the loa for manifestating my height as well as do stretching for the same, will the law work or not? Because if I'm using LOA I'll have to trust it but at the same time I'll be doing those exercises so will it be like that I'm not persisting and trusting the law and that's why I'm doing those exercises. Will I be able to manifest my desired height if I do like that?
Thanks 🙏
well, those exercises that you're doing will be a placebo, and when you assume that doing one thing will lead to another (aka doing those stretches will make you taller) you are using the law of assumption, regardless.
you can manifest that you're taller with or without the stretches, but if you want to use those stretches as a placebo then I'd say you should go for it. tons of people use placebos to manifest and they all get results. just like how people assume that with diet and exercise you can lose weight. or when you buy that expensive face cream to get rid of wrinkles, you assume that when you follow the directions on the back of it it will make those wrinkles disappear.

Bookbinding for beginners by a beginner... part.... 5???
Sorry about the delay, I needed to print, fold and stitch a text block so I could show you the next few steps.
So this is a text block of 5 signatures.
After you rattle off your print you're going to take your bone folder or a butter knife and you're going to fold the pages in half once you do the signature count. Example- 20 pages for a 20 page signature, or 17 and the numbers can increase and decrease as such.
I then take my punch cradle and follow the marks. Take your awl and just punch it through the paper. There are other methods I'm just going over what I do. At this juncture I say turn to a preferred search engine, YouTube and Bookbinding Tok for answers.
After that you're going to compress the whole thing in between your book press your cutting boards with clamps or whatever you have. Leave it over night. What this does is get the air out of the loose pages and compacts everything down.
A better example of deckled edges and is what you will likely see with modern paper (plus what compression does to your bind):
So what you will need is- Curved needles, bees wax cake, linen thread or pre waxed linen thread (I suggest just getting it pre-waxed for all of these supplies please refer back to the first post I made.
GREAT So you did all this now how do you make the book STAY together? French link stitch.
I will provide photo visuals as best I can but be warned I only have white linen thread so it may be hard to see. BUT measure out the amount of thread you'll need by measuring the thread along the length of what will become the spine of your book.
I always throw in a little extra. Cut your thread at an angle so you can ease it through the eye of your needle easier. Next find the tail end of your thread. Loop it twice around your fingers, the loose end tuck it between the loops and pull taught:
I work from the last signature (end of the book) up to the first signature (beginning) that's how I'm comfortable doing it, just make sure you keep the order correct
You're going to find the middle of the signature and open it, this is for demonstration only but it's nice to have something with a bit of weight and some height to keep your signature opening. But that's just a cigar box I picked up and clearly now houses my binding supplies.
Go from the outside in and go until you hit the knot, feed it through, leave the tail we need it. Stitch until you hit the end of the signature and remove the weight, and take your next signature. Feed the needle through the next puncture.
Now when you get to the second hole you're going to send your needle down behind that long stitch right there and loop it back up and go through the third hold that's in line:
Behold the french link
continue on in this manner until you hit the end of the signature. Remember that tail we just left a few stitches back?
Tie it off with the thread. After that is done feel free to leave the tail we can trim it later. Now what you're going to do is feed your needle in between these two signatures. This is what's called a "Kettle stitch"
Get your next signature fold it open and feed the needle into the first puncture.
Repeat until you've run out of signatures. Please refer to the video I linked above for better visuals and tips.
Once you hit your last signature loop the thread and weave it in between the last signatures a few times and loop the needle down and pull taught.
Snip the threads and behold- you did it!
You have stitched your bind together!
NOW you're free to glue it.
With your press- I suggest putting down some freezer paper or some wax paper, this will get messy and you want to be able to get your text block easily out of your press.
Line up your text block as straight as you can with some overhang- I go about an inch and a half (don't quote me I eye ball it).
Now to hold your hand down on the press so it's equal and level pressure. Put your clamps on or twist down on a diagonal. Cinch down firm but not tight. Repeat for the other two sides and then when you are happy. Cinch down.
Now stand it up. This is why you want it level.
Add a layer of Glue and walk away, allow it to set for an hour or two. I usually add two layers of glue before adding mull.
While that's happening I like to make some tea, maybe reward myself with a snack (pickles are choice for me but do a cookie if you'd like).
I also like to start prepping the next bits I need:
Extra tools and bits and bobs that are totally totally optional but this is EXTRA shit. Going from Left to right- jewelry making kit, 3/8th inch (9.5 mm) ribbon, jump rings, charms and ribbon clamps also 3/8th inch (9.5mm). Sometimes you need the jump ring to set the charm on the ribbon clamp. That tan bit with the Blue? That's book ribbon, you can make your own somehow... how? IDK magic, I haven't gotten THAT far yet.
Oh and a lighter... get a lighter... any lighter. A scented candle will work you'll need to burn the ends of your ribbon to prevent further fraying.
Measure out the length of your book, plus a few inches, I'll go over placement in a minute.
Now what you're gonna do is get your jump ring, and open it up as gently as you can to make a gap for the eyelet for your charm and ribbon clamp.
Now take your two pliers and squeeze the jump ring shut. Do your best it can get tricky.
Then what you're going to do is take one end of your ribbon and set it down on your work surface and line up the ribbon charm and pinch the ribbon clamp down as best you can until the little teeth begin to dig in, situate the ribbon as best you can and clamp down HARD so the teeth lock together with the pliers.
Congratulations you now have an awaiting bookmark ribbon!
In all likelihood the ribbon charm will take you anywhere between 5-10 minutes depending on how slippery your ribbon is and how nervous you are. Don't be. You're a biped, bipeds win.
And since I'm at the photo limit for posts I'll be posting this now. TO BE CONTINUED!
#bookbinding#bookbinding for beginners by a beginner#y'all sick of my shit yet?#Well that's too damn bad I ain't done yet.

Topic :- What Is YouTube Thumbnails and How to download thumbnails free
Introduction
YouTube has evolved into much more than just a video-sharing platform. It's a world of endless possibilities, and creating a successful channel has become a dream for many. While content quality is crucial, there's one often underestimated factor that can significantly boost your channel's success - YouTube thumbnails.
Welcome to our YouTube Thumbnail Downloader, your one-stop destination for quickly and effortlessly downloading YouTube thumbnails. With our user-friendly tool, you can access thumbnails in various qualities and resolutions, including 1080p HD, 720p, or 480p, all without the need for registration or any cost. Your security is our priority, and you can trust that your downloads are safe and secure. So, whether you're a content creator looking to enhance your videos or simply want to explore intriguing thumbnails, our website has you covered.
The Power of First Impressions
Imagine you're walking into a bookstore, and the book covers catch your eye. The same concept applies to YouTube. Your video's thumbnail is the first thing viewers see, and it's the book cover of your content. A well-designed and intriguing thumbnail can make a potential viewer stop scrolling and click on your video.
The Art of Creating Click-Worthy Thumbnails
The Dos and Don'ts
Let's dive into the dos and don'ts of creating captivating YouTube thumbnails:
Do:
Use high-resolution images that clearly represent your video's content.
Incorporate vibrant colors and contrasting elements to make the thumbnail pop.
Add text that teases the content and sparks curiosity.
Don't:
Overcrowd the thumbnail with too much text or clutter.
Mislead viewers with misleading thumbnails. Honesty is key for long-term success.
The Impact on Click-Through Rate
Your Click-Through Rate (CTR) is a vital metric for your channel's growth. CTR represents the percentage of people who clicked on your video after seeing the thumbnail. A higher CTR means more viewers, which can lead to increased subscribers and revenue.
So, how does the right thumbnail affect your CTR? It's simple. An enticing thumbnail grabs attention and entices viewers to take action. It's like the cover of a mystery novel that makes you want to read the first chapter.
The YouTube Algorithm and Thumbnails
YouTube's algorithm is smart. It doesn't just analyze video content; it also considers the performance of your thumbnails. If your thumbnails result in more clicks and longer watch times, the algorithm will favor your videos, ultimately leading to more exposure.
But remember, the algorithm also penalizes clickbait and misleading thumbnails. So, always maintain transparency and relevancy.
Crafting Thumbnails for Different Content
Different types of content require distinct thumbnail strategies. For tutorials, you might want to show the end result, while for vlogs, a candid image can be more appealing. The key is to align your thumbnail with the viewer's expectation.
Storytime Thumbnails
When telling a story, use thumbnails that capture the essence of the story. For instance, if your video is about a hiking adventure, a thumbnail showing you atop a mountain with a breathtaking view will draw viewers in.
The Mobile-Friendly Factor
With the majority of YouTube views coming from mobile devices, it's crucial to ensure that your thumbnails look great on smaller screens. Test your thumbnails on various devices to make sure they're visually appealing and informative.
Conclusion
In the vast YouTube universe, your video is a needle in a haystack. Your thumbnail is the magnet that attracts the viewer's attention. A great thumbnail can be your ticket to success, with increased views, subscribers, and engagement.
So, put effort into crafting those eye-catching YouTube thumbnails, and watch your channel soar to new heights!
FAQs
1. What's the ideal resolution for YouTube thumbnails?
The ideal resolution is 1280x720 pixels. This ensures your thumbnail looks crisp and professional.
2. Can I change a video's thumbnail after uploading it?

Rogue Waves: How much water can a ship handle?
youtube
Rogue wave is a term used to describe a wave which is at least 2 times higher than the waves around it.
There have been instances of ships being hit by rogue waves for centuries, but until 1995 this type of wave didn’t have a specific classification!
That’s right - the definition and recording of rogue waves began as recently as 1995.
Rogue Wave vs. Tsunami
A rogue wave is different to a tsunami. A tsunami is a long wave, caused by seismic action.
In deep ocean, a tsunami is generally not going to dramatically increase in height. Tsunamis increase in height as they travel towards land. As the ocean floor becomes shallower, the water is forced upwards, leading to often devastating consequences for low lying areas on land.
Rogue waves on the other hand break out at sea, and usually last for only a few minutes. Rogue waves are unpredictable and can come from different directions to what would be expected by the prevailing weather. They can be the result of storms, or of swells passing through each other.
Fact or Fiction: Rogue Wave
For many years stories of rogue waves were thought to be myth. Today, scientists have a better understanding of rogue waves, and some of these previously dismissed reports are now believed to have been encounters with rogue waves.
Image: Rogue Wave in the Bay of Biscay. NOAA.
Notable Rogue Waves
In 1942, whilst undertaking trooping duties Queen Mary was hit by a wave estimated to be around 22.8m tall (75ft). The ship took on a 52 degree list but did manage to right itself and was able to sail back to harbour.
The German ocean liner, Kronprinz Wihelm was stuck head on by a huge wave on its maiden voyage in 1901, and in 1910 the British liner Lusitania sustained structural damage from the impact of a rogue wave.
In 1966 two passengers and a crew member died when the Italian Line’s Michelangelo was stuck by a huge wave, causing significant damage to the forward part of the superstructure.
More recent ships to sustain damage from rogue waves include both Bremen and Caledonian Star in 2001. Norwegian Dawn was struck by a series of large waves in 2005, while in 2007 Prinsendam was struck by a large wave.
QE2 and the Rogue:
QE2 encountered a huge rogue wave in 1995 while on a transatlantic crossing. The ship was turned into the wave, which was described by Commodore Ron Warwick as looking like the White Cliffs of Dover coming towards them!
The ship dipped down into the trough before the wave crashed over the bow, with the water level reaching over the bridge windows!
Despite the weight and power of the water the ship was not badly damaged, although the forward bow railings were pushed in. There was also some damage to items housed on the bow with the wave tearing off the QE2’s forward bow-whistle and its supporting mast.
Remarkably, the majority of passengers slept through the whole thing, only finding out about their lucky escape the next day, when they were issued with a certificate to commemorate the event!
Though rogue waves can form anywhere, there are certain areas where they are more common. These days, ships avoid travelling through the more dangerous areas and they have been removed from the scheduled shipping passages.
Despite a number of incidences of rogue waves, the likelihood of encountering one on your next cruise is very low.
